How can I experience contentment?
I Thimothy 6:6-7 But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.
Contentment begins with realizing our eternal destiny. It isn't how much we own, but where we are headed. When we realize that there is more to life than our time on earth, everything takes on a new value.
Heb 13:5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,"
Contentment settles in our hearts when we meditate on material goods cannot offer the peace and satisfaction that God offers. The richest people on earth, in material terms, are impoverished if they have no treasures in heaven. Those who have an inheritance in heaven are truly rich.
Phi 4:11-13 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
2 Peter 1:3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence
When we have Jesus Christ, we have all we need. He teaches us to discern the valuable things in life from the distractions. Contentment comes from the teaches us to discern the valuable things in life from the distractions. Contentment comes from being in Christ's presence, not from accumulating worldly possessions.
