Do we really need the church? How can we have hope for the church?
Ephesians 1:19-23 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
God wants to do great things in the church.
The people of God are equipped with the resurrection power of Jesus Christ and are the emissaries of the Lord who rules over all!
When we come together with this vision, we have confidence that God will do more than we could have ever imagined.
But sometimes the church seems so weak. How can we have hope for the church?
Matthew 16:18
"I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
The will not be overcome; Jesus promises that he will build his church.
The Lord is using the church as his divine instrument to overcome evil with good.
Can God work through the church to help me?
James 5:14,15
Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
Do we really need the church? How can we have hope for the church?
