Gen 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee: యెహోవానీవు లేచి నీ దేశమునుండియు నీ బంధువుల యొద్దనుండియు నీ తండ్రి యింటి నుండియు బయలుదేరి నేను నీకు చూపించు దేశమునకు వెళ్లుము.

The call of Abraham was a great new beginning in the Bible.

It took place about 1900 years before Christ.

From now until the most part we have the story of Abraham and his descendants.

He was the father of the Jewish people, and because of his great faith in God.

he is called the father of all who trust in God (Rom 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them alమరియు సున్నతి లేని వారైనను, నమ్మినవారికందరికి అతడు తండ్రి యగుటవలన వారికి నీతి ఆరోపించుటకై, అతడు సున్నతి పొందకమునుపు, తనకు కలిగిన విశ్వాసమువలననైన నీతికి ముద్రగా, సున్నతి అను గురుతు పొందెను.)

He is also called the servant of God 

(Gen 26:24 And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake. ఆ రాత్రియే యెహోవా అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమైనేను నీ తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాము దేవుడను, నేను నీకు తోడైయున్నాను గనుక భయపడకుము; నా దాసుడైన అబ్రాహామును బట్టి నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించి నీ సంతానమును విస్తరింపచేసెదనని చెప్పెను).

a Prophet 

(Gen 20:7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine. కాబట్టి ఆ మనుష్యుని భార్యను తిరిగి అతని కప్పగించుము; అతడు ప్రవక్త, అతడు నీ కొరకు ప్రార్థనచేయును, నీవు బ్రదుకు దువు. నీవు ఆమెను అతని కప్పగించని యెడల నీవును నీవారందరును నిశ్చయముగా చచ్చెదరని తెలిసికొనుమని స్వప్నమందు అతనితో చెప్పెను.)

and the father of the nation of the Israel 

 (Isa 51:2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. మీ తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాము సంగతి ఆలోచించుడి మిమ్మును కనిన శారాను ఆలోచించుడి అతడు ఒంటరియై యుండగా నేను అతని పిలిచితిని అతనిని ఆశీర్వదించి అతనిని పెక్కుమంది యగునట్లు చేసితిని.)

Rom 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? కాబట్టి శరీరము విషయమై మన మూలపురుషుడగు అబ్రాహామునకేమి దొరికెనని అందుము.

But probably his greatest name is "the friend of God" 

(Isa 41:8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. నా సేవకుడవైన ఇశ్రాయేలూ, నేనేర్పరచుకొనిన యాకోబూ,నా స్నేహితుడైన అబ్రాహాము సంతానమా)

(Jam 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. కాబట్టి అబ్రాహాము దేవుని నమ్మెను అది అతనికి నీతిగా ఎంచబడెను అను లేఖనము నెరవేర్చబడెను. మరియు దేవుని స్నేహితు డని అతనికి పేరుకలిగెను.)

It all began by simple faith and obedience to God's call
