Christmas in psalms

Psalm 110 is the most quoted Psalm from the Old Testament in the New. It is also the most quoted chapter from the Old Testament in the New. Psalm 110 vets 1 is quoted 24 times. 

This Psalm was central to the New Testament writers understand of who Jesus is and what he came to do. Unlike we often consider Jesus, it is not a Psalm about Christ's humility but his authority. 

It is not primarily about his first coming but about his second, when he will crush, destroy and butcher his enemies. It is the rest of the Christmas story we never hear.
