What does the Bible say about being a servant

God's Servant

Rom 1:1Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
Acts 7:38 This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness together with the angel who was speaking to him on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living oracles to pass on to you.
We know Christ Jesus as a servant. The apostle Paul reminds us that he "emptied himself, taking the form of a bond-servant and being made in the likeness of men". (Philippians 2:7). This verse indicates two things that we should note.

First, it shows us that he was divine in nature before becoming man. He is the King over creation itself. He rules with absolute power. Not many who make it to the top humble themselves, but that is exactly what Jesus Christ did. Do you see the greatness of who he is? He stooped very, very low.

Secondly, Jesus Christ became fully man. Some may struggle with the fact that he could be both man and God at the same time, but the fact is, this speaks to who he is. God is able to do things we cannot understand, and he does so for only one reason - love Acts 8:13 Even Simon himself believed; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he observed signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed.

"Servant" - the Greek word could also be translated "slave", one who belongs to completely to another person.

All believers in this sense are servants or slaves of Christ.
He has purchased all of them from the slavery of sin to become His property, His people
Matt 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
I Cor 6:19,20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

Paul accepted this relationship with Christ gladly and willingly as all believers should.
