Giving is a source of thanksgiving and praise to God
2Cor 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
God's gifts to men are many and great. But no doubt Paul has in mind here the greatest and most indescribable gift of all - John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
And he refers to this gift so that believers might better understand what giving is all about and learn to give as God gives. HE is a brief summary concerning the truth about the giving of believers
Being able to give is a gift to God, God's grace working in their hearts and lives(Rom 12:6-8 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
2Cor 8:1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia)
Giving is privilege believers should seek  2Cor 8:4 Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
Giving is test of the sincerity of our love and obedience - no giving indicates no love, little giving , little love, much giving, much love 2 COR 8:8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
Giving is the nature of God (2Cor8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Even every small gifts are acceptable to God, if the heart is right  (2Cor 8 12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Giving helps to bridge the gap between those who have plenty and those who are in need (2cor 8:13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
Giving is service toGod's people (2Cor 9:1 For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you
Giving should be with freedom and cheerfulness  2Cor 9:5,7 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Giving bring its reward  2Cor 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Giving is a source of thanksgiving and praise to God (2Cor 9:11-13 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.  For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
